The easiest place to leave a car in central Varna is one of the four municipal car parks at the Railway Station, Musala Square, the Town Hall and the Trade Center: open 24/7, €1.02 per started hour or €12.78 for 24 hours. Free parking exists, but it is limited to mall lots and a few small lots at the Naval Academy end of the Sea Garden. Prices checked on varnaparking.bg in October 2026. Source: Varna Parking.

How much do car parks cost in Varna?

The municipality sets four price tiers for its car parks (passenger cars, as of October 2026):

Car park tier First hour Each further hour 24 hours Month
Blue Zone lots €1.02 €1.02 €12.78 €92.03
Green Zone lots €1.02 €0.51 €7.67 €66.47
Neighbourhood lots €0.51 €0.51 €4.09 €46.02
Outskirts lots €0.51 €0.51 €3.58 €38.35

The central lots charge the Blue Zone tier. That rate was set in January 2025 (2 BGN per hour, 25 BGN per day), so the euro prices are a straight conversion, not a new rise. Motorcycles pay €0.51 per hour. Source: Moreto.net, 30.01.2025.

Car park or street parking?

Street parking in the Blue Zone costs only €0.51 per hour, for a maximum of 3 hours in a row, paid by SMS, app or at a shop. In the MPark app you can also buy the whole paid day for €8.18 (valid until 20:00). For a few hours, or a day with the app, the street is cheaper; overnight, the car park is simpler. Our guide to the Blue Zone and Green Zone explains the SMS numbers and the MPark app.

How do I pay at a municipal car park?

  1. Stop at the entry barrier; a camera reads your number plate and the barrier opens.
  2. Park and keep your ticket if you are given one.
  3. At the exit, the attendant calculates the time.
  4. Pay in cash or by card, take the fiscal receipt, and the barrier lifts.

Each started hour counts as a full hour. Parking for disabled badge holders on the marked bays is free for up to 3 hours. Source: Varna Parking.

Where can I park for free?

  • Sea Garden (Naval Academy side): two small free lots per OpenStreetMap; walk through the park to the beach.
  • Malls: Mall Varna’s lot is tagged free. Grand Mall and Delta Planet have large car parks; check their current rules at the entrance.
  • Outside the zones: streets beyond the Blue and Green Zone signs carry no zone fee, but read the local signs and keep driveways clear.

Cars cannot drive into the Sea Garden, so whichever option you choose, finish the trip on foot.

What about the neighbourhood lots?

The seven lots in Mir, Roza, Pobeda, Troshevo, Mladost, Asparuhovo and Vladislavovo only rent fixed spaces by the month (call 0884 544 740 on weekdays). They are useful if you are moving to Varna, not for a day trip.

Airport and resorts

Varna Airport runs its own car park with separate prices; see the airport website. In the resorts north of the city, private lots charge €2–3 per hour according to OpenStreetMap.

Quick checklist

  • Over 3 hours in the centre? Use a car park or a full-day ticket in the MPark app. Source: Varna Parking.
  • Keep the ticket and the receipt.
  • Check prices on the barrier sign; private lot prices on OpenStreetMap are crowd-sourced.
  • Do not leave bags or electronics visible, especially near the beaches.
  • In July and August, arrive before 10:00 or park further out and walk.
