Outdoor workouts, cycling and yoga by the sea in Varna
Varna's outdoor gym is its seafront: workout stations in the Sea Garden, wide alleys for cycling, and quiet beaches and lawns for yoga at sunrise.
In Varna, the best gym is outdoors. The Sea Garden gives you free fitness equipment, shaded alleys for cycling and quiet lawns for stretching, while the beaches below are made for sunrise yoga. All of it is free and within walking distance of the centre.
Outdoor workout stations
The Alley of Olympic Glory, near the Dolphinarium, was renovated with fitness equipment and benches along its 1.1 km length. Combine a few rounds on the bars with an easy jog along the alley – a full workout with a sea view.
A 30-minute routine:
- 10 minutes of easy jogging on the alley.
- 3 rounds: pull-ups or assisted rows, push-ups on a bench, 20 squats.
- 5 minutes of stretching facing the bay.
Cycling
According to Visit Varna, the Sea Garden’s wide alleys and the seafront promenade make it easy to reach the beach by bike. Cars are not allowed in the park, which makes it the calmest place in the city to ride. Ride at walking pace in busy areas, ring your bell politely and remember that families with children have priority on the narrow paths.
Yoga by the sea
The most beautiful yoga studio in Varna has no walls. On summer mornings you will see people with mats on the sand of the Central Beach or on the lawns of the Sea Garden before the heat arrives. Bring a towel or mat, find a spot away from the busiest paths and listen to the waves instead of music.
